Purpose of the role of a Director, Quantity Surveying / expected outcomes
The Director leads a portion (business unit) of the RPI’s national practice allotted to them.
In this role the Director is responsible for the continued development and success of their business unit, embracing
business development, client relationships, leadership and development of professional staff, project delivery,
profitability and growth.
The Director is a key member of the Management team. Directors report to the relevant Executive Director.
The Director is expected;
• To grow and manage the business unit under their control
• To deliver profitable projects, ensure management of the company’s and our client’s contractual interests, and
the maintenance of highly satisfied clients
• To attract, retain and develop high-quality, motivated staff performing in high achieving teams
• To lead the formulation and achievement of business development targets that contribute to the planned growth
and profitability of the company
• To lead to the development of effective, continually improving business policies, processes and systems
• To ensure excellent communication and relationships with clients, partners and staff across the business
• To substantially contribute to the development, growth and positive recognition of the RPI brand
• To demonstrate commitment to the purpose and values of RPI.
