We are partnering with a globally recognised design, engineering and consultancy firm to find an exceptional Technical Director for their Land and Urban practice in Brisbane. With a strong local presence and access to world-class global resources, this business is at the forefront of some of Queensland's most significant and complex urban development projects.

The Opportunity
This is a rare senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished engineer or technical specialist to take ownership of a growing team and drive the continued development of a well-established Land and Urban practice. You will combine deep technical expertise with the ability to inspire and develop talent, build enduring client relationships, and contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of the business.
As Technical Director you will be accountable for the technical quality and delivery of a diverse portfolio of land development and urban infrastructure projects, whilst leading business development activity and playing a key role in winning and shaping major commissions across Queensland.

The Role

• Provide technical leadership and direction across the Land and Urban team, setting and maintaining the highest standards of design, analysis and delivery
• Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers and technical specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional excellence
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients across the public and private sectors, building long-term relationships that support the growth of the practice
• Drive business development activity including the identification of new opportunities, preparation of proposals and representation of the business at industry forums and client engagements
• Oversee project delivery across the full lifecycle, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including transport, environment, planning and program management, to deliver integrated and innovative solutions for clients

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
• Substantial experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development, urban infrastructure or related disciplines
• A proven track record of technical leadership at a senior level within a major consultancy or engineering environment
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams
• Strong client relationships across Queensland's public sector and/or development industry, with a commercial mindset and capability in business development
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the gravitas and credibility to represent the business at the most senior levels
